What is MAP?
This is a web-based resource where you can explore and learn about the structure and function of biological molecules in the context of their location in the body, biological processes they participate in and diseases and disorders they can cause or are associated with.
How do I use this resource?
You can browse this web-site based on the organ system, organ, moelcule types or disease. All these classifications can be accessed from the left hand menu.
Description and images of molecules in this resource are presented at three different levels (basic, intermediate and advanced) to suit the reader's interest and level of understanding. By default, the intermediate level is selected for you. While reading about a molecule, you may change the level by using options in the left hand menu or at the top and bottom of the molecule page.
The RCSB is a member of the wwPDB whose mission is to ensure that the PDB archive remains an international resource with uniform data.
